Deloitte: Global outlook hinges on energy

Deloitte’s Weekly economic briefing tackled the OECD’s latest economic outlook, entitled Confronting the Crisis, which suggests the global economy will slow materially in 2023. 

Specifically, global economic growth is forecast by the OECD to slow to 2.2% in 2023 (down from 2.8% in their June forecasts) and then bounce back to a relatively modest 2.7% growth in 2024.

Asia is expected to be the main engine of growth in 2023 and 2024, whereas Europe, North America and South America are expected to see very low growth.
