Ken Henry urges bold tax reform

Former Treasury secretary Ken Henry, who authored the 1000-page review of Australia’s tax system in 2010, has urged the federal government to pursue tax reform.

He concedes that any reform carries a measure of political risk, but the government knows what needs to be done and merely lacks the courage and the creativity to do so.

“What needs to be in place is political courage”, Henry said.
