Biggest trade surplus on record in December

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released trade data for the month of December, with Australia’s trade surplus rising to $3,511 million from $2,040 million (revised) in November.

In seasonally adjusted terms, exports rose by $1,697 million (5%) to $32,630 million in December, whereas imports rose by $209 million (1%) to $29,120 million.
