New car sales hit record high in May

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released new motor vehicle sales for the month of May, which registered a 2.9% seasonally adjusted rise in the number of sales over the month and a 4.9% rise over the year:

All jurisdictions reported increases in new car sales in May in seasonally adjusted terms.
