Multinationals fight back against ATO profit shifting crackdown

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) served 181 companies with $2.5 billion worth of tax bills in the 2020 financial year, with the companies in question in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, e-commerce and resources. However, ATO Deputy Commissioner Rebecca Saint says billions of dollars worth of tax bills are being disputed by 26 different taxpayers:
