Transurban will scuttle road pricing reform

9News reports that the NSW Government is examining a “revolutionary plan” to replace car registration charges and road tolls with a direct road pricing system that would charge Sydney motorists for every kilometre that they travel:

9News has learned a review has been ordered to look at easing the pressure on drivers being pinged at every turn…

On average, Sydney’s motorists fork out around $1200 every year on tolls.
