Australians living longer despite COVID

The life expectancy of Australians has continued to rise, bucking a global downward trend as other countries were hit hard by the coronavirus.

According to life tables released yesterday by the ABS, the expected lifespan of Australians has risen to 83.2 years:

Life expectancy in Australia continues to rise, with a baby boy expected to live to 81.2 years and a girl to 85.3 years, according to the latest figures released from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
