Working from home saves Aussies $10,000

Cisco has released the findings of a global study which found that people have saved an average of $216 per week – or $10,000 a year – by working from home and cutting spending on petrol, commuting, food and entertainment. The study included 1,042 workers in Australia.

More than two-thirds of the 28,000 full-time workers also indicated that they have been exercising more and their physical fitness has improved since they began working from home, while the majority reported having a better work-life balance.

However, many expressed concern about the impact of telecommuting on their career progression.
