International student tsunami gathers momentum

Over the weekend, Abul Rizvi lamented that that the Albanese Government was handing out student visas like candy, “rubber stamping just about every application”.

Rizvi also warned that the unprecedented boom in international students “may end abruptly and in tears” with many students being left in “immigration limbo”.

In particular, the decision by the federal government to uncap the number of hours that international students can work while studying means that “never before have student numbers increased at such a rapid rate”.
