Australia drowns in affordable housing lies

Michael Pascoe has criticised the NSW government’s high density push, which promises to include “up to” 15% affordable dwellings.

Pascoe points out that, according to Planning Department data, as little as 3% of new dwellings in Bankstown, in the Sydney’s south-west, and Kellyville and Bella Vista, in the north-west, have been set aside for affordable housing.

Homebush and Hornsby (both 5%), Crows Nest (10%), and Macquarie Park (10%) will also have significantly less affordable housing than the NSW government promised.
