The latest Freshwater poll says it all:
When each person polled was asked to select three top issues of concern from a list of 16, cost of living remained well at the top with 74 per cent, a fall of 2 points since last month. But the Coalition’s lead over Labor as the best party to handle the issue grew by 7 points to 14 per cent.
After cost of living, housing and accommodation is the second-highest issue of voter concern on 42 per cent, followed by health and social care (27 per cent), economic management (27 per cent), crime and social order (24 per cent), and the environment and climate change (18 per cent).
In terms of managing issues, the Coalition now has double-digit leads over Labor on defence and national security (19), economic management (16), immigration and asylum (15), tax and government spending (15), crime and social order (14), and the cost of living (14).
In short, the LNP leads on everything that matters by miles. The polity hates Globo Albo.
But the opposition is barely managing to scrape in for a minority government:
Were it not for Dutton, Albo would be a goner.
