Is Trump Hitler?

It is a question being proffered by the left with increasing frequency. And, equally, dismissed by the right.

There are parallels. Mostly in the methods of management and control.

Trump’s cadre of self-absorbed nutters is easily comparable to Goering, Himmler, Goebels, Heydrich and Bormann.

While this is, currently, conjecture, he’ll be playing his fanatical loyalists off against each other.

He’s discussing the creation of temporary detention (a la concentration) camps for illegal immigrants before mass deportation.

His first attempts at governmental control fell short of his expectations, so he’s going to use loyalists plus the law to water down any framework of the state that might stop him.

He’s prepared to do personal deals with foreign leaders, framed as treaties, on which he’ll renege as soon as it suits.

This is all “playbook stuff” of the would-be dictator, including Hitler, rather than being a one-way ticket to seizing the Sudetenland or Holocaust II.
