Rudd turns Australia into village idiot

Honestly, what kind of idiots run this joint?

Donald Trump has appointed Dan Scavino as his deputy chief of staff, just a day after his trusted adviser suggested on social media that Kevin Rudd’s days as Australian ambassador to the US were numbered.

Mr Scavino, who is the longest-serving aide to Trump, and held the same position in his first White House mandate, on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) sowed fresh doubt about Dr Rudd’s tenure with a GIF on social media platform X showing an hourglass running down. It was posted in response to Dr Rudd’s congratulatory message to the president-elect.

It’s not kowtowing to pull Rudd. Nor is it sending a bad signal. It’s acknowledging that the bloke took a career risk when he abused Donald Trump and now must pay for that lapse of judgment/conviction.

It’s simple national interest calculus.

Rudd hates Trump. Trump hates Rudd.

Both have personal leadership styles so it is best to keep them as far apart as possible.

The Albanese government has no judgment on anything.
