Victorian government exposed for housing hypocrisy

The Victorian government has embarked on an authoritarian plan to seize control of planning from local governments and create 50 activity zones earmarked for high-density apartments.

These activity zones will include wealthy areas, such as Brighton, Armadale, Glenferrie, Glen Iris, Malvern, and Toorak.

They will be rezoned to allow the building of high-rise apartment complexes of 10 to 20 storeys near train and tram stations, as well as “gentler, scaled” height limits within 800 metres of train stations.
