Aussie consumer sentiment falls as economy stalls

  • Assessments of current conditions continue to post solid improvements.
  • But consumers turn pessimistic again on economic outlook.
  • Softening also weighing on labour market and housing-related sentiment.

The Westpac–Melbourne Institute Consumer Sentiment Index dipped 2% to 92.8 in December from 94.6 in November.
